2001年创办的武汉大学国学本科试验班，2009年获得国家教学成果二等奖。2010年，国学班入选武汉大学“基础学科拔尖人才培养试验计划”，成为全校七个“弘毅学堂班”中唯一的人文学科试验班。

The Chinese Classics Class of undergraduates in Wuhan University which founded in 2001 won the second prize of 2009 national teaching award. In 2010, it was selected as the only class in humanistic discipline for the Wuhan University Cultivation Program of top-notch talents on fundamental subjects focusing on seven Hong Yi classes.

国学班秉承以“中国古典学”为核心价值的国学教育理念，以敬畏学问、建立学术荣誉感和文化关怀为原则，标举“知识与价值并重”的道艺传统。培养方案上，国学班摆脱普通大学本科的“概论式”教育模式，以中国古代文化经典的精读为核心，加之以文献考据、传统文字音韵训诂之学的训练；通过理论课程、学术文化史课程加强研究意识和方法意识，实现多学科交叉整合的培养形态；施行小班教学、本科导师制、学年论文制，期许一流师资，一流学习条件，一流学术环境与氛围。

The educational ideals of the S.C.C. are “based on classics, returning to tradition, and geared toward modern times” and “synthesizing interdisciplinary studies”, which try to mingle the knowledge and morality together. On training program, instead of general-introduction teaching model, Chinese Classics Class concentrates on intensive reading of Chinese classics, accompanied by the training of textology, traditional philology, phonology and exegetics. The curriculum is made of theoretical courses and academic history courses to enhance students’ awareness of academic interest and achieve the multi-interdisciplinary cultivation. We are expecting to create “top faculty members, top conditions and top environment” by implementing small-class system, tutorial system and annual thesis system.
